How do I customize BadBlue EE's system tray menus?
Right-clicking on the BadBlue icon in the system tray produces a popup
menu consisting of several user options. Two of the options, in their
default state, refer to BadBlue and the BadBlue web site: (a) the
BadBlue Home menu (selection of which vectors the user's browser to
the BadBlue home page); and (b) the Help menu (selection of which
vectors to the BadBlue Help Center).
With BadBlue EE, the home and help
menu options can be controlled by editing the EXT.INI file as follows
(you can use Windows Notepad program to edit the EXT.INI file which can be found in the folder where you installed BadBlue,
usually C:\Program Files\BadBlue\EE):
Add a [CUSTOMIZE] section to the file and specify HOME and HELP keys.
Each key value should consist of a displayed menu item, followed by a comma,
followed by the URL to which the user should be sent upon selection of the menu item.
For example:
[CUSTOMIZE]
home=MyCo Home,http://www.myco.com
help=MyCo Help,http://www.myco.com/help.htm
This example changes the original BadBlue Home
menu to read MyCo Home and also changes
the Help menu to read
MyCo Help. The modified menu entries
vector to
http://www.myco.com and
http://www.myco.com/help.htm,
respectively.
Every time I start BadBlue, it brings up the QuickStart Wizard. Can I turn this feature off?
Yes. The EXT.INI file can control this behavior. Add the following
line to the CUSTOMIZE section of the
EXT.INI file:
[CUSTOMIZE]
quickstartwizard=0
The built-in default value for quickstartwizard
is 1 (for 'turned on'). It should be set
to 0 to disable the wizard on startup.
Every time I restart the server, it brings up a browser window. Can I turn this feature off?
Yes. The EXT.INI file can control this behavior. Add the following
line to the CUSTOMIZE section of the
EXT.INI file:
[CUSTOMIZE]
autobrowser=0
The built-in default value for autobrowser
is 1 (for 'turned on'). It should be set
to 0 to disable the automatic browser
behavior. You will need to stop and then restart the server for
this change to take effect.
When I start BadBlue, can I automatically minimize the little server window?
Yes. The EXT.INI file can control this behavior. Add the following
line to the CUSTOMIZE section of the
EXT.INI file:
[CUSTOMIZE]
autominimize=1
The built-in default value for autominimize
is 0 (for 'turned off'). It should be set
to 1 to automatically minimize (or hide)
the small server window. You will need to stop and then restart the server for
this change to take effect.
